For over 20 years, Valarie Blaes has provided quality, innovative and results-driven marketing, business development and communications services to architects, engineers, contractors (A/E/C) and other professional services companies.
Having worked in A/E/C companies’ marketing and business development departments — both large and small — Valarie has a keen understanding of the in’s and out’s of these professional services industries.
Blaes Communications Consulting, LLC is SWaM-certified by the Commonwealth of Virginia as a small, woman-owned, full-service marketing communications consulting company. The marketing communications consulting firm has also earned the distinction of being certified as a “micro-business.”
In addition to working with A/E/C and other professional services firms, Blaes Communications Consulting, LLC partners/contracts with other marketing and advertising agencies to provide marketing consulting services.
Valarie has a Bachelor of Arts in English with a Journalism emphasis and a minor in Speech Communication from Old Dominion University, and holds the distinction of being an Adobe Certified Associate CS3 – Web Communication using Adobe Dreamweaver. She is also an award-winning writer, having won first place in the Daily Press’s, “Not Ready To Bag It Yet” feature story writing content (May 2006).
Valarie is a member of the Association of Proposal Management Professionals (APMP), The Society of Professional Journalists (SPJ), Richmond Chapter of IFMA (International Facilities Management Association) and American Marketing Association.
